Gormonstown Circuit
Host Club: North Dublin Motorcycle Club (link)
Location: Gormonstown, Co. Meath
Description: It is a hardpacked soil based track situated right beside the sea. The track has a mixture of tabletops and ski jumps with some very fast sections.
Directions:
From Dublin:
Take the M1 from the city. On the M1 take the last Balbriggin/Julianstown exit (last exit before the toll bridge), There are 5-6 small stone sculptures on the left a few hundred meters before the exit which act as a good land mark for the exit. Cross back over the motorway and take the next turn on the left which is about half a mile from the M1 exit. Turn right at the next T junction. You'll see the Cock Tavern on the left after three quarters of a mile. Take the second small lane on the left, approximatley 100m from The Cock Tavern. At the end of this lane you'll go under a railway bridge, the track is on the right hand side before the beach. Be warned large trucks may not get under this bridge, they'll have to take the next lane (Gormonston Railway Station) and come back along the beach when the tide is out.
From Dundalk:
Take the M1 motorway southbound. Take the Balbriggan/Julianstown exit (which is the exit directly after the toll bridge). On the roundabout at the top of this slip road take the first exit leading you away from the motorway. Take the next left which is about half a mile along this road.
Special Note:For Trucks & Large Campers.
Your vechicle will not fit undr the railway bridge at the end of the small road so you will have to continue north along the N1 about one mile to the Delvin River Bridge and turn left to the beach. The sea is clearly visible from the main road. Go down to the beach and turn right along the seashore for about a mile where you will see a traffic cone out on the beach showing where to turn off. The beach is very driveable all the way up to the track. There is a four wheel drive tractor available if needed, call 0872352853 or 087 2382670 anytime on any race weekend. All racing at Gormanston is scheduled around the tides, check on the club web site nearer to raceday where the times of the tides will be posted up.
